How I keep my glow: peek into my routine

Hello, everyone! I’m Svetlana, founder of Gressa, and today I want to share with you the personal practices that help me keep my glow, both inside and out. At Gressa, we believe in embracing a holistic approach to beauty, and it’s something that I live by every day.

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received in my wellness journey comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM emphasizes the importance of balance and harmony in the body, and it teaches us that warmth is key to maintaining that balance. In fact, Chinese medicine recommends drinking warm liquids, particularly hot water, to support digestion, enhance circulation, and promote overall well-being.

TCM believes that our digestive system, or "Spleen" in their terms, functions best when the body is kept warm. When we consume cold liquids, it is thought that our digestive system has to expend extra energy to warm up the food or drink before it can process it effectively. This can lead to sluggish digestion and an imbalance in the body.

On the other hand, drinking warm liquids like hot water, herbal teas, or soups is said to support the body’s natural processes by aiding digestion, promoting the smooth flow of Qi (energy), and encouraging detoxification. Warm liquids also help to increase blood circulation, which supports the body's ability to nourish tissues and organs.

From a scientific perspective, drinking warm water can stimulate the digestive enzymes in the stomach, making it easier for your body to absorb nutrients. It also helps increase the temperature of the digestive tract, promoting better absorption of food and allowing toxins to be flushed out more effectively. Plus, warm liquids help to maintain hydration levels, which is vital for skin health and overall vitality.

The Ritual of Tea: More Than Just a Drink

For me, sipping on tea is more than just a nourishing practice—it’s also a way to slow down and be present. The action of taking a moment to sip tea forces me to pause, which I truly cherish. Tea itself becomes a ritual, and it’s the kind of ritual that brings peace and mindfulness into my busy day.

By consciously sipping on a warm cup of tea, I prolong the moment. It transforms something as simple as drinking tea into a mindful act, one where I can slow my thoughts, take a breath, and enjoy the process of being present. Whether it’s a calming chamomile, a refreshing mint, or an energizing ginger tea, each sip becomes a way to center myself and fully experience the moment. It’s these small, intentional practices that contribute to the balance and clarity I carry through the day.

Caring for My Skin and Body
