The mouth, in color

Lip color can be precise or undone, saturated or barely present. The most compelling application is often the one that feels lived in rather than overworked.

The Gressa Method

A softened edge

A lip need not be perfectly outlined to feel finished. Press pigment into the mouth, let the natural line remain visible and allow the color to belong to the face rather than sit apart from it.

The Ritual

Questions, considered.

Begin with undertone and the natural depth of your lips. A good shade should feel connected to your complexion even when it is expressive. Consider whether you want the lip to echo your natural tone, warm it, cool it or intentionally contrast it.
Yes, but lightly. Apply lip care, allow it to absorb, then remove any excess before color. This preserves comfort without making pigment slide or lose definition.
Absolutely. Press a small amount into the lips with a fingertip for a softened stain, or layer directly when you want fuller saturation.
Avoid over-perfecting the edges. A softly diffused lip, a concentrated center or a single decisive shade against otherwise quiet skin often feels more modern than a heavily constructed finish.
